NSA vs SPN
SSP umpires will be carded for both NSA &
SPN. We welcome both Sanctions for Fundraisers, Leagues & Tournaments.
THESE ARE BOTH GREAT AFFILIATIONS THAT WANT TO INSURE AND UMPIRE YOUR
GAMES. THIS IS A GREATER COST TO LEAGUES THAN THE FIELDS THEMSELVES.
NSA vs SPN Bat Rules Explained
First of all I want to say that Matt
Wilcott from MVP Athletic explained it to me so I will share it with
you.
Ok so we do know that SPN will start using
the USSSA stamp. Pretty much all over Canada SPN leagues have changed
to this stamp but a couple leagues locally are still using ASA 2004
stamp.
The difference between the two is that ASA
2004 stamp will only allow up to 98MPH bats to be produced. USSSA &
NSA bats are produced up to 100MPH. With any of the stamps 2011 or
older we KNOW THAT THE BATS GET HOTTER AND FASTER WITH WEAR AND TEAR.
So, the NEW USSSA stamp will mean all bats
moving forward will ONLY MAX OUT AT 100MPH and the BATS WILL NOT BREAK
IN OR GET FASTER. And SPN will NOT allow old USSSA 100MPH bats to come
forward with their move to the NEW USSSA STAMP.
So those above mentioned leagues are
making you wait to buy new bats till they can SAFELY bring them in...
GOOD JOB!!! SPN is trying to keep their bat speeds to 100MPH or less.
Simple and SAFE, I like that...
NSA has approved bats that are 100MPH and
will break in and get faster. As long as these bats are inspected
before play for cracks or dents that again give it even more POP, we
can assume that NSA bats will or CAN BE HOTTER at this point moving
forward.
Now, having said all that, SSP's bat
policy for LEAGUE play can have more bats removed from the ALLOW LIST
if they choose too... Tournaments can do the same thing. That's all I
have to say.
SSP Leagues & Tournaments
We aspire to running our Leagues the same
as other League models. Without naming anyone they have control of
their fields, umpires and have direct contact with all their teams via
web sites and or email. Cindy and Darryl are always available though
email or phone. If you want to talk about Bolivar Park past, present
or future OR our ability to run it address us personally.
