We manage and co-ordinate
slo-pitch ball leagues and tournaments on behalf of the City of Surrey
at Bolivar Park with three diamonds, and two diamonds located at
Bridgeview Community Centre. With 5 diamonds we are able to host
leagues year round and Provincial and National Tournaments. Bolivar
Park also features closed in 310 fences.
All members of the SSP board, on behalf
of the City of Surrey, as the park permit holders, are currently
working diligently on recognizing Bolivar park for its convenience,
prime location and availability. We are rebuilding this Association
and the status of Bolivar leagues, the park, its common grounds and
participants, validating accountability, organization and efficiency.
Bolivar leagues have evidently weakened considerably over the course
of a few seasons and it is our commitment, exhausting all avenues, to
prove our responsibility, to restructure, reorganize and reestablish
this incredible, accommodating and convenient Softball park.
SSP is extremely focused on rebuilding the Men's league, incorporating
a Women's league to run adjacent, sharing diamonds and territory,
commencing immediately for next season. A Masters league is definitely
on the to-do list as well, encouraging seasoned ball players to
continue their incredible efforts, learn their knowledge of the game
and exhibit extraordinary game play on the field.
We also support and encourage the Weekend Warrior Recovery league.
This league maintains incredible efforts weekly, scheduling busy
Saturdays, stimulating time well spent on and off the ball field. SSP
is extremely thankful for the opportunity to host such an incredible
group of individuals!
The Zone, SSP's newly established Spring league, is currently, after
battling weather conditions & Ryan Kessler's personal efforts in
seeking Stanley, up and running. This league continues to maintain the
title for respectful, cleanliness, fun and commitment, supporting
Bolivar park as teams with seniority in an established league.
Softball remains to this day, the most relaxing laid back,
entertaining sport. SSP's commitment to you all, is to put the 'F'
back in fun.
Fundraising
A big part of the tournaments is
fundraising. There are weekends available to book your own
fundraiser/tournament. Contact Cindy or Darryl to book fundraisers
& tournaments.
League Formats
NSA vs SPN
SSP takes extreme pride, promoting neutral status for SPN and NSA
affiliation, creating an atmosphere for diversity & knowledge on & off
the ball field. Our umpire crew is focused on efficiency and
knowledge, promoting game play rules, skills and talents in all
divisions. All SSP umpires remain neutral and are carded for both SPN
and NSA format.
We welcome both Sanctions for Fundraisers, Leagues & Tournaments.
THESE ARE BOTH GREAT AFFILIATIONS THAT WANT TO INSURE AND UMPIRE YOUR
GAMES. THIS IS A GREATER COST TO LEAGUES THAN THE FIELDS THEMSELVES.
SSP Leagues & Tournaments
We aspire to running our Leagues the same
as other League models. Without naming anyone they have control of
their fields, umpires and have direct contact with all their teams via
web sites and or email. Cindy and Darryl are always available though
email or phone. If you want to talk about Bolivar Park past, present
or future OR our ability to run it address us personally.
We have both
SPN & NSA carded umpires
and can host leagues and tournaments in either league format.

Concession Stand, Washrooms & Conference Room
We have fresh prepared features on Saturdays &
Sundays. Concession open 7am to 7pm on Weekends. Ladies and Men's
Washrooms as well as full handicap facility and a infant change table
is located in the main buildings. Conference room can be booked for
teams to use for meetings or for fund raising support.
